The benefits of this approach to you are great. If you ask a number of firms to fill the same position, you invite them to enter a race in which the prize goes to the first company to send you an acceptable person (sometimes without even meeting the candidate).
The non-exclusive assignment tilts the scales against those, like us, who work methodically through interviews, structured interviews, psychometrics and background checks in order to send you people who really meet your needs, rather than simply fill a space on the payroll.
